Ollie Johnston, 93, may not be a recognizable name, but his work most definitely is. Disney's net income down 26 percent

In the final earnings report reflecting Michael Eisner's long reign as chief executive at the Walt Disney Co., the entertainment giant on Thursday reported higher revenue and profit but a weak ending to the record fiscal year. Despite a strong performance at Walt Disney World and from ABC and ESPN, fourth-quarter profit slipped 27 percent as a result of charges, including the expensing of stock options, and soft box-office results. Poor showings by films such as Dark Water and The Brothers Grimm drove the film unit to its biggest loss in at least six years.

Kermit the Frog Turns 50

It's not easy being green - but it does have certain compensations. For one, Kermit the Frog, who turns 50 this year, doesn't look a day over 22. For another, he got a grand welcome to kick off his anniversary celebration in a town that could have been made for him. Kermit, Texas, turned out in force to celebrate with Kermie. Kermit coworker Debbie McClellan accompanied the famous frog on his pilgrimage to the small Texas town, population around 5,700, and told us about the festivities. "We wanted to find a place for Kermit to visit that was either green or had something to do with Kermit the Frog. When we found Kermit, Texas, it just took off from there!" she says.

Cinderella's bling outshines her story

Once upon a time, Cinderella was one of the humblest souls in the world of children's entertainment. Named for the soot she constantly swept from her wicked stepfamily's hearth, she befriended rodents and warbled patiently until she was rescued by her fairy godmother and her prince. Lately, though, Cinderella has become another kind of character: a retail giant. She has opened her own boutiques in every Toys "R" Us across the country, sold a million DVD copies of her classic animated film in a single day and inspired flocks of little girls to don sparkly light-blue tulle for Halloween.
