Robert Sherman Passes Away At Age 86
 Songwriter Robert Sherman died Monday, March 5 in Longdon. Together with his brother Richard, the Disney legend wrote a number of songs for Disney movies and theme park attractions, including 'It's a Small World (After All)' and 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'.

Storybook Circus to Open By Late March & Snow White Attraction Closes
 The first elements of Storybook Circus will open by late March, marking the first in a series of progressive openings for the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom Park history. Among the first experiences to open will be one carousel of Dumbo the Flying Elephant, a re-themed Barnstormer starring the Great Goofini and the Fantasyland Station of the Walt Disney World Railroad. The Disney Princesses will be getting a new home at the location where Snow White’s Scary Adventures is today, which closes May 31.

Kilimanjaro Safaris To Undergo Refurb At Animal Kingdom
 Beginning this spring, the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction will undergo some changes to give guests an additional opportunity to see more of their favorite animals, specifically zebra. To do so, Walt Disney Imagineering will make some creative changes to the last scene in the attraction by removing the Audio-Animatronics “Little Red” elephant and related set pieces. This area will then be reconstructed as savannah space and feature a new watering hole for live animals.

8 Themed Lands For California Adventure, Cars Land To Officially Open June 15
 When the Disney California Adventure 5 year expansion is complete this summer, eight new lands will make up the theme park, including a bug's land, Condor Flats, Grizzly Peak, Hollywood Land, Pacific Wharf, Paradise Pier, and new lands Buena Vista Street and Cars Land. The latter will officially open on June 15.

Earl of Sandwich Coming to Disneyland Resort's Downtown Disney District
 Earl of Sandwich is coming to Downtown Disney at Disneyland in early summer 2012! The only Earl of Sandwich in the state of California, the restaurant will be located adjacent to the AMC Theaters close to the Disneyland Hotel. In addition to a variety of sandwiches including it's signature hot sandwich, the Original 1762, soups, salads, wraps and desserts also are on the menu. Earl of Sandwich is also located at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Paris.

Fastpass Changes Coming to WDW in March
 In preparation for implementing it's NextGen project, Disney World will apparently soon be enforcing the return time on it's Fastpasses. Beginning March 7, guests will be allowed to enter 5 minutes before the start time and only up to 15 after the end time stated on the Fastpass. For many years, guests were able to take advantage of the Fastpass being honored all day after the first return time.

Eli Manning Goes To Disney World!
 After leading his team to a game-winning drive and the Super Bowl championship Sunday night, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning led another drive Monday: down Main Street, U.S.A. to cheering fans at Walt Disney World Resort. “I’m going to Disney World!” proclaimed Manning Sunday shortly after his team scored a dramatic 21-17 win over the New England Patriots to capture Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis.

2012 Conde Nast Survey Puts DCL Top of Large Ship Category
 The 2012 Conde Nast survey of readers has placed all three Disney Cruise Line ships at the top of the list in the Large Ship category. The Disney Magic was in first place, with the Disney Dream and Disney Wonder in a tie for second with Celebrity Eclipse. Each ship was rated on seven criteria: Activities/Facilities, Cabins, Crew/Service, Design/Layout, Food/Dining, Itineraries/Schedule, Shore Excursions.

2013 DCL- Bookings Open for Dream & Fantasy
 The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy sail dates for 2013 opened for booking today. The Dream will be sailing 3 and 4 night Bahama Itineraries, while the Fantasy will be sailing 7 night Eastern and Western. Home Port for both ships will be Port Canaveral.There are no 5 night double dip sailing scheduled for 2013.

Re-Imagined Test Track Coming To Epcot
 This new version of the attraction will transform the current testing workshop into the sleek “Chevrolet Design Center at Epcot,” where guests will become automotive designers and create their own custom vehicles. Next, they’ll buckle into a six-person SimCar ride vehicle and test out their design on the challenging track of the Test Track course. This new experience is the result of a renewed, multi-year business relationship between Disney and General Motors.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend
 Reviving the popular Twilight Zone Tower of Terror theme, runDisney has unveiled its newest race, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend, which debuts next year at Hollywood Studios. The nighttime race, scheduled for September 29, is the reincarnation of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 13K last held in 2009. The new event will feature runDisney’s first-ever 10 mile distance. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror race weekend will involve a variety of events, including a 5K and Kids’ races, plus a Health and Fitness Expo, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney. Race registration opens Februrary 14, 2012 at runDisney.com.

Disney Vacation Club Coming to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
 In a newsletter sent out today, to current Disney Vacation Club members, Disney has announced the opening of 147 villas as part of the previously announced expansion of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Estimated to open in late 2013 near Disney's Wedding Pavilion, the resort's slated to become the 12th Disney Vacation Club property. "With the continued popularity of Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort, we are thrilled to offer our Members and Guests a new resort option along the monorail beam with easy access to the Magic Kingdom Park, as well as a variety of shopping, dining and recreation experiences," said Claire Bilby, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Vacation Club.

"Exotic Driving Experience" Coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2012
 Combine some of the world’s finest automobiles with a track specifically designed for drivers to safely experience their awe-inspiring acceleration, speed and handling and you have “Exotic Driving Experience”, the latest offering from Petty Holdings. Exotic Driving Experience will feature supercars by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, and Porsche. Future plans include the addition of other exotic models, as well. Driving Experiences will start at $189 for six laps around the circuit. Thrill Rides with a professional driver at the wheel will be available for $99. It will officially begin on January 16, 2012. Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights Returns to DHS
 The annual display of holiday cheer, which features millions of dazzling lights, has returned to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. From now until Jan. 7, 2012, the cityscape and building facades in the park’s Backlot area will be draped in multicolored lights that periodically “dance” to holiday tunes. In addition to the buildings, the area will also feature illuminated carousels, angels, Santa Claus and other figures. (The spectacle will not be operational on Dec. 8). This offering actually began in 1986 in Arkansas, at the home of businessman Jennings Osborne, who strung 1,000 lights as a Christmas gift to his daughter. The exhibit was transported to Disney in 1995 and is a popular holiday draw for many guests.

Exotic Driving Experience Coming to Disney World
 There’s a new driving experience coming to the Walt Disney World Speedway early next year that will allow anyone with a driver’s license to get behind the wheel of an amazing “supercar.” The Exotic Driving Experience will feature “supercars” by Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi and Porsche on a track specifically designed for the attraction when it opens on Jan. 16, 2012. There are also plans to add other exotic models into the lineup in the future.
