Disney Cruise Line Sets Sail for Russia, Northern Europe, Mediterranean in 2010
Disney Cruise Line will reposition one of its ships to Europe for an unprecedented, five-month season of Northern European and Mediterranean cruises in 2010. The voyages sail from late April through mid-September and will allow passengers to explore exotic and unfamiliar destinations with the safety and comfort of traveling with Disney Cruise Line.
To celebrate the animated film 'Tinker Bell', Disney's most famous fairy and four of her best friends will soon be featured in a meet-and-greet experience in Mickey's Toontown Fair at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort, due to open at the end of October. To meet Tinker Bell and her fairy friends, guests will enter a magical forest called 'Pixie Hollow', a special place deep in the heart of Never Land.
Johnny Depp Reprises 'Pirates' Role, Plus Two New Projects
Johnny Depp is becoming the new face of Walt Disney Studios. The actor will preside over the manic tea party in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" as the Mad Hatter and will play Tonto in "The Lone Ranger," whose latest screen incarnation is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Disney formally announced the casting Wednesday at a studio presentation. It also said it is officially in development on a fourth installment of "Pirates of the Carribean," which would see Depp reprise his popular role of Captain Jack.
Online movie rental company Netflix Inc. said Tuesday it signed deals with CBS Corp. and Walt Disney Co.'s television units that will allow it to offer current episodes of the companies' shows as well as previously aired programming.

Variety is reporting that after turning the theme park ride "Pirates of the Caribbean" into a blockbuster film trilogy, Disney is circling an entire segment of its theme park - Tomorrowland - as inspiration for a space movie that will star Dwayne Johnson.The studio has set scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore to draft an epic-sized action adventure set in space. The film is being designed as a vehicle for Johnson, who starred for the studio in family hit "The Game Plan" and most recently completed "Race to Witch Mountain."

The Walt Disney Company CIS has joined forces with some of Russia's top filmmaking talents for their first Russian produced feature, 'The Book of Masters', a light-hearted family adventure told with love and self-deprecating humor, which continues the Disney spirit and traditions. The film started shooting in September 2008 outside Minsk. Upon completion of the first stage of shooting, production will then move on to the Mosfilm Studio stages.
