Wenner Buys Disney's Us Weekly Stake
Jann Wenner, the magazine entrepreneur who founded Rolling Stone, has bought out The Walt Disney Co.'s 50 percent stake in Us Weekly magazine for an undisclosed amount, the two parties announced Wednesday. Wenner brought in Disney five years ago as a partner as he made a major investment in the magazine and revamped it from a monthly to a weekly format. Many were skeptical at the time that the investment would pay off.
