Golden Mickey Mouse In 2001 the Walt Disney Co. certified a 24-karat, 24-inch, 100-pound statue, designed by Disney artist Marc Delle and called "Celebration Mickey," to be auctioned for charity, during the company's 100th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney's birth.But it didn't sell at the Sept. 6, 2001, auction. Five days later - Sept. 11, 2001 -the world changed and Celebration Mickey went into storage. Now owner R&D Muller Ltd., of Boynton Beach, is trying again.
