Disney Profit Tops Street View as Parks Roar
The Walt Disney Co. posted a sharp rise in quarterly profit and raised its earnings target on Wednesday as rising travel to its theme parks and a strong showing at cable network ESPN more than made up for stumbles at its movie studio and poor ratings at ABC TV. Net profit rose to $537 million or 26 cents per share in the fiscal second quarter ended in March from $314 million or 15 cents per share a year earlier.
