"Alice in Wonderland" Opens Strongly At Box Office
"Alice in Wonderland" set a new record for a March release at the weekend box office in North America, earning an estimated $41 million on its opening day, distributor Walt Disney Co said on Saturday. Director Tim Burton's 3D collaboration with Johnny Depp opened across the United States and Canada on Friday, and is also playing in about 40 foreign countries.
With 600,000 people already completing or confirming their volunteer service by mid February, looks like Disney has now come close to it's 1 million people it had hoped to inspire to volunteer in 2010. In exchange, participants receive a 1 day Disney theme park ticket. Rumor has it that the Give A Day Get A Disney Day promotion will soon come to an end.
Cablevision's 3.1 million customers in New York could lose access to the Academy Awards on Sunday if ABC's parent company follows through on a threat to pull the plug at midnight Saturday in a dispute over payments. The Walt Disney Co. is seeking an additional $40 million a year in new fees, according to Cablevision Systems Corp. spokesman Charles Schueler. He said the company currently pays more than $200 million a year to Disney.
Nearly twice as many runners as last year are rushing to bring out their inner princess this weekend at Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Lady Foot Locker at Walt Disney World Resort.More than 18,000 runners, including 13,000 for the half marathon, are registered for the three-day event aimed at women's health and wellness, making it one of the largest women-specific endurance events in the country.

INTERCOT's John and Dpamac (Gary) are live at the Walt Disney World - ESPN Wide World of Sports Grand Opening Thursday and Friday. They've been invited to share in the fun, and in turn, you get to peek behind the curtain by following the Official INTERCOT Twitter Account.
"Captain EO," the classic musical spectacular that thrilled Disneyland park guests from 1986-1997, is now open at Disneyland. The attraction's return to Tomorrowland provides new audiences the opportunity to experience the original 3D production for the very first time, as well as a nostalgic look back for longtime fans wanting to see "The King of Pop" in a rare performance created for the big-screen.

Atlanta Braves Spring Training At ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex
The Atlanta Braves will host several marquee spring training opponents in 2010, including visits from the World Champion New York Yankees, World Series runner-up Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals during the Major League Baseball Spring Training season at Champion Stadium at the soon-to-be-re-imagined ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
For the summer season, Disney magic will shine and shimmer in a whole new light as Summer Nightastic! comes to Disney World Resort in Florida.
